Makes: 12
Active time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 8-12 hours

Ingredients

1 cup whole milk, warm
1/2 cup sugar, divided
2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 eggs
1/2 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon salt

4 cups all purpose flour

For Chamomile Butter

½ cup butter, European preferred
2 tablespoons dried chamomile

1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

For The Dough

Mix warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar and active dry yeast and let sit for 30 minutes.
Add eggs, butter, the rest of the sugar and salt, and stir together until smooth.
Add the flour all at once and mix until a sticky dough forms.
Cover with plastic wrap and let sit overnight.

For Chamomile Butter

Melt the butter, dried chamomile and honey over the stove and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain the chamomile out and reserve the butter.
Sprinkle a clean work surface with flour and roll out dough into a 18x12-ish rectangle.
Brush on the chamomile butter evenly onto the dough. Cut into 12 1-inch strips and roll them into a spiral.
Brush some of the chamomile butter onto the bottom of a 9x12 baking pan and place the rolls on evenly.
Cover and let proof for about 20-30 minutes while the oven preheats to 350 degrees.
Bake for 17-20 minutes or just until they start to golden. Brush immediately with remaining chamomile butter. Crush some loose-leaf chamomile with your hands and let some of the loose leaf tea sprinkle onto the buttered rolls.
Enjoy as a dinner roll!

Serve on its own, with spread, or as an addition to any meal. And if you want only the rolls for dinner, we're not telling!
