Who remembers making jello from the box with their family as a child? I know I do. That was one of our go-to simple desserts that I could prepare by myself as a child (such accomplishment). But when was the last time you looked at the ingredients of one of those boxes?
Artificial Red coloring, mounds of sugar, artificial flavoring?
What even is that?!
I don't know about you...but I like my food to sound like, well, food! Instead of artificial flavors and Red 40, why not just use Freeze-dried Strawberry Powder?
With that alone, you get flavor, color, and sweetness! But if you really want that sweet jello flavor, add a pinch of Organic Stevia and you'll feel right at home. What else do we put in our jello? Literally just gelatin and water. That is it!
Sounds way healthier right?
Plus, the natural strawberry flavor way surpasses the artificial if you ask us!
Here's how to make it.
Ingredients
1 tbsp gelatin
¼ cup cold water
¼ cup boiling water
Instructions
Combine your 2 tbsp of Strawberry Powder, ⅛ tsp Stevia, and 1 ½ cups of water.
In a separate small bowl mix together 1 tbsp of gelatin with ¼ cup cold water. Once the mixture is thick, add ¼ cup of hot water and stir until dissolved.
Combine the strawberry and gelatin mixtures together and pour into your desired containers. You could choose to pour into individual servings for simplicity, or one large container to spoon into a jello parfait once it firms up! Place these in the fridge for at least 1.5 hours or until firm and ready!
