Who doesn’t love sinking their teeth into warm, freshly baked bread (home baked or bought from your local bakery and rushed home) that’s smothered with delicious, indulgent melty butter?

We certainly do. Can you tell?

Bread and butter are the perfect combo and we love them on a lazy Sunday morning breakfast in bed (the crumbs are so totally worth it), as a side to a curry, casserole or equally ‘dippable’ dish and of course cut into soldiers and dipped into a runny egg.

But what if we told you, you could up your butter game and make this simple delight even better?

Well with the help of Karlee from Olive and Artisan, you can! Karlee has come up with this dreamy buttery spread that tastes amazing.

Whipping up butter with honey, chamomile and nutmeg is divine, we promise you. It helps if your butter is slightly warmed, so leave it out of the fridge for 20 minutes or so before attempting to whip it up using a hand or electric whisk with paddle attachments.

Chamomile is relaxing and soothing and most often found in teas. But we love the creativity and imagination of Karlee (one look at her Insta feed and you’ll be hooked) to use these delicate white and yellow flowers in something totally different. It’s also the perfect partner for honey. Enjoy!

Ingredients

½ cup butter
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon water
½ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions

Simply whip all of the ingredients together and spread lovingly onto your freshly baked bread.
