Our Story
After months enduring endless exhaustion, co-founder Richard Wang determined that the root cause of his fatigue was related to contaminated supplements, when he found elevated levels of lead and arsenic in his blood.
Upon further research, Richard discovered that heavy metals may collect in supplement powders from raw material contamination and environmental pollution.
Prolonged exposure to these substances can lead to elevated levels of heavy metals in the body and are known to be dangerous to the human body, affecting cognition and organ function.
Richard grew up in the 80s enjoying wheatgrass juice (long before its trending status!) that his father used to make at home with flats of wheatgrass he’d pick up from the farmers market each day at the crack of dawn.
With a background in public health and a lifelong interest in holistic health embedded in him by his upbringing, Richard dedicated himself to furthering his education on the logistics of the supplement industry.
To his dismay, he discovered that there were no testing standards at the time and while some guidance existed, the regulations for manufacturers were flexible and required no real rules for brands to follow.
Finally, in 2015, Richard launched Nature Restore alongside his younger brother Jason Wang, to deliver quality supplements at reasonable prices, each thoroughly vetted and tested at independent labs for heavy metals. And in 2021 they partnered with the National Forest Foundation to expand the mission into maintaining sustainable supply chains, promising to plant a native tree in our national forests for every product sold through the website.
Today, Nature Restore remains committed to providing affordable and accessible superfoods and supplements that adhere to rigorous third-party testing for heavy metal contamination, while offering customers an opportunity to give back to their communities through the NFF.
