Nature Restore pomegranate and raspberry powders - vegan tart with berry topping

We are big believers that recipes do not have to be complicated to be delicious. That is what lead us to develop this beautiful tart! We wanted the ability to count all of the essential ingredients on one hand, 5 ingredient maximum.

That's Right

Just 5 Ingredients for an Incredibly Delicious Desert!

To make our vegan optional tart all you need is:

  1. A pre-made pie or tart crust
  2. Coconut cream
  3. A fruit powder of your choice
  4. Maple syrup
  5. Either gelatin or agar (if choosing vegan)

Now, you can add more ingredients if you want to add different flavors or toppings, but that is totally up to you and your preferences! We, for example chose to add both Pomegranate and Raspberry powders to ours, as well as some vanilla extract! You can also add any decorations you wish to the top, like our assortment of fresh berries and pomegranate seeds.

If you want to decorate your tart while still keeping true to the 5 ingredient concept, dust some extra fruit powder on top before refrigerating! you can even swirl it in to make a fun marbled pattern if you wish!

The possibilities are really endless with this 5 ingredient base, and we just love that creative freedom, don't you?

Ingredients

1 can of coconut cream (about 1⅔ cups)
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
3 tbsp agar flakes  OR  2 packages unflavored gelatin*
Prepared tart or pie crust

Toppings (optional)

Blackberries, pomegranate seeds, eatable flowers, fresh rosemary clippings, or any other toppings you wish to add.

Instructions

Vegan

In a medium pot whisk together coconut cream, Pomegranate Powder, Raspberry Powder, maple syrup, vanilla, and agar flakes and bring to a boil. Gently simmer for about 10 minutes stirring frequently until the flakes have dissolved.

Leave to slightly cool down and pour onto the crust. Place into fridge for about an hour to set.

Non-vegan / dairy-free

In a small saucepan, whisk together 1 cup of the coconut milk with the powdered gelatin.

Allow to sit for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to “bloom.”

Add in the vanilla, then gently heat the mixture over medium-low heat, whisking well to help the gelatin dissolve. Be careful NOT to boil this mixture!

Once the gelatin has completely dissolved, remove from the heat and stir in the maple syrup, fruit powders, and remaining coconut milk.

Pour into your prepared crust and place in the fridge to set for at least 4 hours before serving. This recipe also freezes well if you prefer to have a frozen treat!
