Hands up who’s as excited as we are about it almost being Halloween! The weather might’ve got colder and the days shorter, but that means ghosts, ghouls and all things spooky as October 31st approaches.
This year we’ve got our baking groove on, too, and we’ve come up with a brilliant way of adding a peculiarly paranormal pink to your cupcakes and muffins – whether homemade or store bought – by adding Nature Restore Dragon Fruit Powder to your buttercream frosting!
Frosting is thicker and fluffier than regular icing which tends to be thinner, runnier, shinier and way less fun to create with. It can be used to both top cakes and other sweet bakes and to sandwich layers of cake together.
But we get it – pink isn’t the first color that springs to mind when thinking of All Hallows’ Eve. However, we’re not ones to follow, we’re ones to lead – so how about making your Halloween spread or trick or treat gifts pink themed this year? You’ll be the talk of the town and the only limitation is your imagination.
Imagine pink frosting covered in creepy black popping candy, spooky spider candies or with reusable plastic tombstones or skulls sticking out of it? Things don’t have to be scary either, you could go cute, with dragon fruit pink frosting covered in sweet white chocolate-friendly ghosts.

Then, smother your cupcakes, muffins, brownies or whole cake with your pink buttercream frosting and decorate to your hearts’ content! Keep them all to your family to indulge in some haunted fun, host a pink party or hand them out to the best-dressed trick or treaters that knock on your door.
If you’re looking for the perfect accompaniment to your pink dragon fruit frosting, then use the same buttercream frosting recipe, and switch the dragon fruit powder out for Nature Restore Acai Berry Powder. With its deep purple hue, it makes brilliantly dark frosting, perfect for pairing with bat and witch decorations.
Our dragon fruit powder (which is also known as pink pitaya powder and hails from Central America and Mexico) is packed with beneficial vitamins, minerals and immune-supporting antioxidants. Acai berry powder is just as nutrient dense as it’s an antioxidant powerhouse.
So although the kids (and the big kids) will be eating cake, at least it’ll have a pop of healthy nutrients.
Enchaaaaaantiiiing!
