What is Linden?
Linden trees (Tilia sp.) are native to Europe and North America and are a popular ingredient in many cough drops. Commonly known as European Lime or Basswood, this luscious tree can be found in French and German cityscapes, perfuming the spring air with its subtle scent of honey and citrus.
Great for tea, baths and even skincare DIYs, Linden flowers naturally help relax the body; perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.
Flavor profile: Smooth and floral with mild sweetness. Similar to chamomile but with notes of spice (think black licorice or mint).
Pairs with: Lemon, honey, peppermint, chamomile, spearmint, elderflower, hops, lemon balm. Linden flowers are popularly prepared in tinctures or herbal blends for maximum benefits.
