Cordyceps Sinensis Mushroom Powder (Fermented) (8 oz)
Cordyceps sinesis is one of the most prized herbs in traditional Chinese medicine
Cordyceps sinensis can only grow high up in the Himalayan mountains, at altitudes over 3,800 meters above sea level. The fungus itself is a parasite, only growing on the larvae of a rare and specific caterpillar itself only found at these heights, and deep underground. As the fungus grows, it consumes around 90% of its larval host. The larva becomes more or less mummified by the fungus and the result is an odd looking, orangey brown, finger-shaped ‘mushroom’.
Much of its medicinal ability lies in its cordycepic acid, amino acids, vitamins and minerals including the B vitamins, vitamins E and K and potassium, calcium, zinc, and magnesium.
Cordycepic acid is a known anti-inflammatory agent and is used in TCM to help support inflammatory lung conditions such as asthma and bronchitis.* Cordyceps sinensis is a powerful antioxidant too, having a boosting effect on the production of important cells of the immune system, called natural killer cells. This means it may help support a healthy immune system and promising research is underway to see its potential effect on cancer cells.*
Our Cordyceps mushroom powder is refined to a 50:1 ratio and standardized to 8% cordycepic acid.
Our fermented Cordyceps Extract Powder is also non-GMO and gluten-free.
