PRODUCT DETAILS
What are Bilberries?
Bilberries, also known as European wild blueberries, are a cousin to blueberries and have traditionally been used in European cuisine to make jams, juices, and pies. Bilberries are one of the richest natural sources of anthocyanins, a powerful pigment that gives many fruits and vegetables their rich red, purple, pink, and blue coloring. (Think blueberries, acai berries, raspberries, blackberries.)
But that's not all! Anthocyanins are also what give wild bilberries their high antioxidant content so the more anthocyanins, the better. If you're looking to vary your berry consumption, then our whole dried bilberries will be perfect for you! Our dried bilberries are more acidic than most berries, giving them a mildly tart flavor that tastes great in oatmeal, smoothies, and all types of desserts. Or you can grab a handful, they are delightfully delicious on their own!
