A parasitic fungus?
Cordyceps sinensis is technically a parasitic fungus, only growing on a specific caterpillar that lives in the Himalayan plateaus. But why would you want to eat a parasite?
Well, like most functional mushrooms, it has some pretty impressive benefits. This fungus is a great source of cordycepic acid, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. Cordyceps sinensis is a powerful antioxidant too, having a boosting effect on the production of important immune cells that help fight against free radicals.
Why fermented?
Our Cordyceps mushroom powder is refined to a 50:1 ratio and standardized to 10% cordycepic acid. We liquid ferment cordyceps mycelium in a quality controlled environment using non-GMO growth mediums. What we've found is that a lot of suppliers will grow their mushroom extracts on grains or rice to artificially spike the polysaccharide and beta-glucan levels. We do none of that here. We chose this fermented extract so you get the highest quality mushroom powder on the market with none of the fluff!
