The Best Healthy Homemade Hummus

Everyone has a go-to appetizer for dinner parties, simple get-togethers, or even the surprise drop-by you only had about 10 minutes warning on to quickly tidy up the house and figure out what the heck to put out for them to snack on.

Crazy, I know. 

So today I am sharing one of my go-to apps! Super simple, yet incredibly impressive. All of these items are generally around my kitchen either way so it comes together in no time at all with only ONE dish to clean! Hallelujah! 

I'm talking about homemade hummus!! Literally all you need to do is quickly look at the ingredients, throw it all in a high-speed blender, let that baby run until smooth and that. is. it! You'll still have plenty of time to wipe down the counters and put away that laundry you were folding before your guests arrive! 

Everything you need to know is detailed below. Trust us on this one...everyone will be asking for this recipe! 

Homemade healthy hummus recipe - nature restore kale powder


1 1/2 cup chickpeas drained & rinsed
1/4 c fresh parsley, or another fresh herb (optional but recommended)
1/4 c water
½ lemon juice 
1 1/2 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp lemon-infused olive oil
3 cloves garlic
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
*if you do not have lemon-infused olive oil you can use regular olive oil plus a few drops of lemon essential oil*


Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender or food processor until super creamy and smooth. Store extras in a glass jar and store in the fridge for up to 4 days.

DIY Kale Garlic Spicy Hummus Healthy Recipe


Serving options include:

Swirl into a pretty bowl, sprinkle with your favorite seasonings, maybe a little lemon zest and pepper, and drizzle with olive oil. Eat with chips, crackers, or your favorite sliced veggies. 
Use as a sandwich spread, or to make a super healthy Veggie Wrap
Store in the fridge to use as a salad topping
Literally anything else you can imagine! This stuff is super versatile and delicious!
